The world has seen an increase in MMORPGs in the recent years, and with a good reason: they are fun. But the high-end games normally charge a monthly subscription to play, the rest are Free to Play games (F2P). As expected, many F2P games are not as advanced as the subscription RPGs; however, Atlantica Online breaks the mold. Not only this one is Free-To-Play, but it stands its ground against subscription games.
This is due to the smart design the game has. Most F2P games have you killing snakes and mice hitting them over and over to level; it doesn't sound very epic does it? But Atlantica Online uses a different system, most foes are different, giving a variety and also strategy in the combat. This is particularly effective when fighting more than one opponents. The fights are turn-based, like FF games. As your character progresses through levels you can hire mercenaries to join you. The graphics are good, and the sounds are excellent. Overall, this might be the best Free-to-Play MMORPG at the moment. This is a good choice for any RPG fan. |
